To get there, our Vision 2030 plan is guided by six strategic priorities:

Positive Youth Development

Support strong and resilient youth, teens and families.

2030 Target: Expand programs that help children and teens grow as individuals and emphasize social-emotional learning, academic success, wellness, community service, fellowship and civic engagement.

Community Health & Well-being

Positively impact social determinants of health in our service area.

2030 Target: The YMCA will strengthen community health by expanding staff training and partnering with local organizations to better meet diverse wellness and mental health needs. 

Operational Infrastructure

Develop and optimize programs, systems and infrastructure to remain competitive and sustainable.

2030 Target: Strengthen our service to members and communities by improving infrastructure, using data effectively and growing revenue, ensuring long‑term success through strategic, measurable and sustainable growth.

Organization of Choice

Attract and retain top talent, partners, leaders, volunteers and donors.

2030 Target: Prioritize employee well-being, engagement and growth by fostering a positive, supportive culture. We’ll offer competitive compensation, expand career pathways, strengthen inclusion, measure satisfaction and enhance staff and volunteer engagement to deepen our community impact.

Visibility & Awareness

Position the YMCA of the Triangle as the leading community-based organization.

2030 Target: Use community data to strengthen communication, grow philanthropy and build partnerships. Data‑driven decisions and aligned resources will enhance our reputation and improve how we serve.
