YMCA Homeschool
Our YMCA partners with you to support your child's homeschool education and we have teachers and classes to supplement and complement the education you provide at home. We provide engaging courses that enrich your homeschool student's development through opportunities to learn and grow in collaborative, hands-on classes.
Homeschool Details
We host homeschool classes for a variety of interests and education levels for ages 4 - 19 at two area locations, the Northwest Cary YMCA in Cary and Camp Kanata in Wake Forest.
Our YMCA partners with you to support your child's homeschool education, and we have teachers and classes to supplement and complement the education you provide at home. We provide engaging courses that enrich your homeschool student's development through opportunities to learn and grow in collaborative, hands-on classes, including a variety of core academic classes as well as electives from Math and Biology to Art and Creative Writing.
Classes are capped at 15 for students ages 6 - 19. Preschool (ages 4 - 6) Exploreres classes are capped at 10 students.
All students aged 7 years and older must register as homeschool students with the North Carolina Department of Education. The YMCA homeschool program cannot provide classes for students enrolled in public or private schools.
While the YMCA is a Christian organization, we use a secular curriculum in all classes, and our families come from a wide variety of faith traditions and cultural backgrounds.
Homeschool Programs & Locations
Homeschool at the Northwest Cary YMCA is our largest program, and we several other options in Chapel Hill and Wake Forest.
